Making the most of vacationing in Aberdeenshire just got easier with the release of a new audio tour app

As we start to open up Scotland and we are able to explore a little further, staycationing is likely to remain for many of us this year. But if you feel you have seen and done everything and are looking for something a little different, then this might be the App for you. Making the most of your time and appreciating what you have, is sometimes difficult when you aren’t really sure what you are looking at or even why a place is special. Well, look no further, our new app will help give you an insight into Aberdeenshire you may not have known about.
We are delighted to launch our new Audio Tours App for the North East of Scotland. The App is a handy resource for adventures around Aberdeenshire. Included in the App are free guides for the Top 25 places to visit and the Top 25 places to eat in and around the shire.
The places we recommend to visit are found throughout the region and are all free of charge to access and offer a range of activities from walks, to castles and parks. Some are well known and some are loved by locals but not as popular with visitors.
These guides are by no means the only things to see but we think they are a good diverse start to showcasing what is good about Aberdeenshire.
Guided Audio Tours
The Audio Tours App offers a selection of tour options including driving routes and walking tours. These are in-App purchases. Each tour focuses on well known destinations within the North East of Scotland and share stories and insights that aren’t commonly known to offer an alternative understanding of what we have around us. It will be like having your very own personal guide.
The first of the tours to be released include Stonehaven Walking Tour, Royal Deeside Driving Tour and a Royal Deeside Family Friendly tour. The family friendly tour include activities and our very own junior tour guide to help entertain and keep the younger family members engaged. There are further tours underdevelopment and they will be released over the next few months, these will include Coastal Routes and sections of the North East 250 plus special Food & Drink tours too.
The App
The App is free to downloaded on Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and more information about the guided tours and sample audio can be found on our Audio Tours website. This is an exciting new adventure for Grampian Escapes & Tours and we believe the new App will complement the guided tours which we have been running for the last few years.
The App will offer visitors to the North East of Scotland an chance to learn more about the region while having the freedom to travel and explore at their own pace. There are a large number of visitors to the region who like to travel with their camper van or motor homes, as well as those who hire a car for their road trip around Scotland and this App will help to add to their experience in Aberdeenshire. We are excited to continue to develop more content and expand the products on offer.
The first of the audio tours to be released are two driving routes along the Royal Deeside including a family friendly tour option. The family friendly tours include activity pages such as “Let’s talk about it” when we ask a questions relating to the audio story you just heard or a “Quiz Question” about the location or audio information. The family tours are recorded using our own Junior Tour Guide as co-guide. The walking tour is of Stonehaven and takes in key highlights of the village.
