Aberdeenshire Explorer Tour

The Aberdeenshire Explorer tour is an opportunity to experience a few of the luxuries of Scotland. With visits to a local whisky distillery, relaxed afternoon tea by a wood fire at Pittodrie House hotel and finally a grand tour of Crathes Castle; one of the jewels of the Royal Deeside.

Departs: Saturdays at 09:30 (From Oct - Mar , bookings must be made in advance)
From: The Craftsman (2 Guild Street, AB11 6NE) close to Union Square and the Bus Station.
Duration: 7 hours

This tour is a relaxed explore of Aberdeenshire and we start the day with a tour of Glengarioch Distillery and whisky tasting. Now that you've enjoyed a good dram, it is time to head off to Pittodrie House Hotel for an afternoon tea in their sumptuous drawing room in front of a warming fire to chase away any winter chills. You'll be served with a selection of sandwiches, cakes and choice of teas.

The next visit is to Crathes Castle, a magnificent 16th-century tower house, with its intricate maze of turrets, towers, oak panels and painted ceilings. Wander through the walled garden and admire the massive yew hedges, planted as early as 1702.

Then it's back to Aberdeen in time for a relax before dinner. During the tour you'll be given a few tastes of our local produce to sample the great food on offer in the region.
Please ensure you bring clothing suitable for the changeable nature of our Scottish weather as there will be some stops and activities outside.

This tour does not include any refreshments or entry to attractions. (The additional costs per person are: Distillery tour £8.00, Afternoon Tea £16.00 and Crathes Castle £13.00)
